The weather is getting warmer, the sun is out, and that means it’s time to get outside. No more excuses about the weather to stop you from getting out there! I love to run, and nicer weather is always that extra inspiration.
Here are some celebrity runners to inspire you to hit the streets. You don’t have to have a personal trainer or the most expensive gear to run, just a good pair of shoes and the will power.
Black capri-length bottoms are the perfect fit for running, whether you are a famous movie star or not. Show off your rock hard calves and draw attention away from anything you are trying to run back into shape. The Running Room version below are called the “Be Fresh” capri because they “silver infusion” makes them “odor free and anti bacterial”.
These panties from Vivvos feel like you are running around without anything on at all. They are made from a material that doesn’t leave lines and are great for wearing under athletic wear, yet pretty enough to wear under formal clothing, too!
If running makes you feel less than glamorous, you can add some icing by accessorizing with your sunglasses – like these cool black shades from Oakley – which match the panties above, by the way! (As an added bonus, part of the proceeds go to the Young Survival Coalition which focuses on young women affected by breast cancer.
Still not ready to strap on your shoes? Celebrity Icing offers you some eye candy to get your motor running… Yummy.
Will Smith on the importance of running and reading, two of my favorite hobbies…
According to erosastrology.com: “Aquarians basically possess strong and attractive personalities. They fall into two principle types: one shy, sensitive, gentle and patient; the other exuberant, lively and exhibitionist, sometimes hiding the considerable depths of their character under a cloak of frivolity.”

Many signs have specific colors that suit them, but the aquarius looks good in all of the colors of the rainbow. Alice Cooper, while dressing mostly in black, can be described as a “colorful character”.

You can read all about the famous inventor Thomas Edison at thomasedison.com. Here are two of my favorite quotes (more at the site):
Genius is one per cent inspiration and ninety-nine per cent perspiration.
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Ayn Rand studied philosophy and history in university. She moved to the USA from Soviet Russia in 1925. Her books “dramatized her unique philosophy”, most famously in Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead. You can read more about her at aynrand.org.
Chris Farley’s unpredictable nature added to his hilarity.

According to showbizspy.com, Lady Gaga defended her friend Adam Lambert against a homophobe recently at a Canadian club. Gaga reportedly said “call me anything you want, but when you start calling my friends names, it’s over — it’s war!” right before she poured a glass of wine over him.
Aquarius is the sign of the water carrier so this is a creative and practical gift from nubiusorganics.com. This is the most beautiful reuseable water bottle I’ve seen so far. For an additional price, you can buy a stone with a motivational message that slips into the cap (apparenlty only you can see it when you are drinking).

Or, here’s a funner angle on the water theme: a bunch of water experiments from the supernerds at thinkgeek.com.

Getting married to an aquarius? A colorful engagement ring, like this white gold ring with lagoon blue sapphires would be perfect.

These rainbow tights from hottopic.com are also a bright idea.

If you were born between December 22 and January 19, you are a Capricorn. The sign of the capricorn is the goat. Often the goat will have a fish tail instead of hind legs.
Sir Anthony Hopkins takes his work seriously, whether he is playing a serial killer (Silence of the Lambs) or C.S. Lewis (Shadowlands). He has been nominated for 4 Oscars (winning once). He goes to great lengths to prepare for his acting roles and has had huge success in both film and theatre productions.

Love him or not, there is no disputing the fact that Tiger Woods is a hard worker. He doesn’t dabble, he goes all out.

And why shouldn’t she be confident? She’s only one of the most successful soap actors ever – appearing on All My Children since 1970. She also has been married since 1969 so longevity is just her style.

Simone de Beauvoir – writer, feminist, and philosopher. In true Capricorn style, her nickname was ‘beaver’ because she was so hard-working.

The garnet is a lucky stone for Capricorns. This garnet ring from exoticindianart.com looks luxurious but is inexpensive.

Capricorns may seem very serious and businesslike on the outside so they have problems getting close to people. Consider buying your Capricorn a stuffie to cuddle with when they feel lonely, like this one from amerikidtoys.com.
The capricorn in your life would also appreciate the classic lines and excellent quality of a simple, timeless gold bracelet.
In the first installment of our nod to the 1980’s and the popularity of ‘getting your colors done’ back then – we look at Winters. For an introduction to this series, please refer back to our last post: ‘The 1980’s Called And Asked: What Season Are You?”
Go get yourself a white piece of paper. Don’t worry, you’re not going to have to write a test – you just need it to determine whether you have a warm or cool complexion! You’ll also need a mirror. Hold the paper up to your face and then look in the mirror. Does your face seem to cast a yellow tone to the paper, or is it more blue?
Examples below: Vinnie is a winter. He looks good in black and navy blue. Winters usually have dark hair and fair or olive skin.

The winter world is high contrast – bright white snow; deep black night.
Cher starred in a string of movies in the 80’s (Silkwood, Mask, Mooonstruck, Mermaids).

Bright, intense, vivid colors also look great on you -but stay away from shades of brown or faded colors – they will make you look faded, too; whereas Winter colors will really make you POP.

When selecting colors to wear – think jewel tones. Vibrant, deep and vivid colors such as emerald, ruby, or sapphire complement a winter’s cool.

If you take a moment to think about what season the person is you can get them a gift that will make them look great! Christmas is the perfect gift-giving season for Winters. They look great in Christmas colors (Red, Green, Royal Blue, Pure White…). Here are some ideas for the Winters on your shopping list:
Note that a winter can also be a platinum blonde not just a brunette.
Not this platinum blonde.
Well, maybe- but actually I meant this platinum blonde!

During the 1980’s women would often get their ‘colors done’ – a trained specialist (like for example, one of your mom’s friends) would evaluate your coloring (hair, complexion, eyes) and then tell you if you were a Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter. You would be told what colors you should wear based on this evaluation.
This type of oversimplification and rigid rules of style went out with those scarves you were supposed to be able to wear in 150 different ways (instruction booklet attached).
Yet, there are colors that suit different people – and they can still be a good foundation to build a personal look on.

Women of all Seasons
Join us as we look at the characteristics for each season and the colors that compliment them.
Perhaps you will be surprised by the results. Perhaps we’ll inspire you to try out some new colors. Or, you can use the seasons as a gift guide for the Winter and Spring folks on your Christmas list (that’s probably how far we will get this month). And, of course, in true Celebrity Icing style – we will include some sparkly Stars and some starry sparklers for you to enjoy -with some fun nods back to that colorful decade, the 80’s along the way…
Born between November 22 and December 21?
If so, then you are in good company!
Words used to describe people born under the sign of Sagittarius… flirty and fun, you like to have a good time. This, combined with your optimism, can get you into a world of trouble but at least you’ll look good on your way!
The ultimate example of lead singer-itis – Jim Morrison of the Doors. He had amazing stage presence but got carried away when he took all of his clothes off on stage (and got arrested for indecency). Get inspired by Jim’s original rock and roll style and get yourself some leather pants (or reasonable facsimile) – nothing says rock n roll more than black leather! (Warning: advice is not for anyone over 40 years old unless you were already a rock star when the Doors were still touring.)

Prove your are legit and get your leather at a shop that caters to bikers rather than a boutique.

Here’s a sagittarius who really nose how to party – Keith Richards actually snorted part of his cremated father according to merryswankster.com. Sagittarians love freedom and they love to have a good time, but they can also have gambling problems when they get out of control…
Check out cool Keith’s belt – it sends the message you can be pretty wasted and still be pretty at the same time! Like Keith Richards, the belt buckle below is a 100% original piece of work. They will also design a custom motif for you so you could even ask them to make you a belt buckle inspired by Keith’s buckle shown above.

If you have big hair, strong pipes, and great legs like Tina Turner, you don’t need flashy jewelry to get anyone’s attention. Note her simple bracelet that sends a message that she isn’t a flash-in-the-pan… she’s solid gold.

Katie Holmes’ name doesn’t pop into my head when I think of the words ‘flirt’ or ‘party girl’. However she must have two key traits of Sagittarius; she must be optimistic and a gambler or she wouldn’t have agreed to marry you-know-who…
Katie’s smart, pulled together style hints that she must know what she is doing (or she has a very good stylist). Check out the elegant dress and earrings below.

Take this quick quiz to find out which Gossip Girl style is perfect for you….
a. She’s not a big part of my life any more.
b. She has very high standards but I’m going to live my own life.
c. She is worried that I will repeat the mistakes she made in her life.
d. She is so busy with her career that I often feel like she doesn’t even notice I’m around.

a. I’ve grown up a lot over the last few years – I’m a better person and my relationships are healthier.
b. I feel like I can achieve anything once I set a goal for myself. I’m also much more independent and in control of my life than I was a few years ago.
c. I’m pretty much the same person I was a few years ago – I’m never satisfied with my situation, I always want more – and I’ll do almost anything to get what I want.
d. I’m smart, confident, and a hard worker but unlucky in love. Things are improving: even if my relationships still never seem to work out, at least I know I’m on the right track.

a. The hottest designer’s interpretation of business wear: possibly a bit over-the-top, but very expensive. I would put a lot of though into the shoes and purse as well.
b. I tend to feel most comfortable in black.
c. I would wear something appropriate (not too revealing, slightly conservative) and then accessorize with a funky necklace and earrings.
d. It doesn’t matter where I’m going – every outfit includes a short skirt and high heels.

What’s your favorite Halloween costume?Last year my husband went as Captain Hooker (pirate from the waist up, miniskirt and fishnets from the waist down) and I went as Stinkerbell (imagine Tinkerbell crossed with the Peanuts’ character Pig Pen). My friends dressed up as Alice in Wonderbread (she wore an Alice costume with those big wonderbread dots all over it) and Phantom of the Grand Ol’ Opry – I’m a sucker for these kinds of ‘play on words’ costumes…
Don’t use Halloween as an excuse to wear your sleaziest clothes – do something interesting! Do we really need to see another naughty nurse, hooker, or French maid? This year we think smart, ironic, witty, or a combination of all three is much sexier (if it involves fishnet stockings or stilettos, that’s fine – but they should be part of the costume!).
Today celebrity icing celebrates some cool and creepy jewelry and stars in honor of the season.
For more ghoulish jewels, Halloween gift ideas, and some star-inspired Halloween costume ideas, check out last year’s Halloween feature ”Halloween Brings New Meaning to Costume Jewelry“.
The jewel below is not a real diamond, it’s resin that has been cast into a diamond cut shape. And, that’s a real Green Rose Chafer Beetle inside – the perfect gift for your Ghoulfriend.

Here is the Lotus Spider Ring offered by Kabiri. I love the heart detail and the bed of diamonds… (and yes, they are real diamonds).
Here are some nice nods to the season if you’re not dressing up. You don’t just have to wear these on Halloween either!

And, remember – Eat, Drink and Be Scary on Halloween, but for heaven’s sake don’t drive home after the party!
This week we continue our features on star sign inspired style.
According to circles of light.com, Scorpios have “piercing eyes, sexual magnetism” and are “secretive… and exciting”. They are also “great leaders… well spoken and charming.”
At first impression Julia Roberts seems like a nice person (and she probably is) but there is something else in her eyes and her mannerisms that hints that there is a lot more going on behind the scenes. She is either much smarter than she seems or a lot more ruthless – definitely, she is more mysterious than popular opinion gives her credit for.

Perhaps Chris Noth is more like Mr. Big than we think? Sexual magnetism and charm are both traits of the scorpio…

18K yellow gold wedding ring with blue sapphires. Masculine yet luxurious – just like Chris Noth’s suits.

Lisa Bonet is definitely a mystery – she seems to resurface every few years in movies alongside big names such as Mickey Rourke (in 1987 Rourke was considered a big name), Will Smith, and John Cusack – only to disappear again – drawing some conjecture that she is perhaps difficult to work with?
Yet, if you grew up watching her as Denise Huxtable like I did, you can’t help but like Lisa Bonet – she seems like an old friend or cool older sister.
Most recently she appeared in two episodes of the TV series Life on Mars.

We continue our series on style inspired by the star signs this week with a feature on Libras (September 23 – October 22).
Libra’s love to dress up. They also love art and public service. They do not like to be rushed and they also dislike sloppiness and dirtiness.
Helen Hayes (1900 – 1993) is nicknamed “The First Lady of American Theatre” and is one of only ten people to win an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony Award. She was also a “generous donor of time and money to a number of causes and organizations.” (wikipedia.org).
My favorite Helen Hayes quote is “If you rest, you rust” but, a wise and observant person, she has many others. For example, “From your parents you learn love and laughter and how to put one foot in front of the other. But when books are opened you discover you have wings.”
Catherine Zeta Jones’ beauty and style is an attention-stealer where ever she goes. She manages to combine elegance and sophistication with a healthy vibrance, not easy to pull off successfully.

Load up on silver necklaces and accentuate with a diamond pendant for this look.

I just saw Naomi Watts in ‘The International’ which I really liked (I was disappointed to see that it didn’t get very good reviews). Naomi Watts and Nicole Kidman are reportedly best friends and they have a similar style and look (although Naomi is more natural; while Nicole is perhaps more polished).
